For many years, the housing company of Amberg puts special attention on the reduction of heating costs and also delivers meanwhile sun electricity from its own roofs to 250 households. As a leading company in the sector of renewable energies, the company has been chosen for the pilot project of the European Union "e% - energy efficient housebuilding".
During the last months, an apartment building in Amberg has been renovated according to highest energy efficient standards, as part of the pilot project of the EU. „Thanks to the great funding of the Supreme Building Authority, we are able to hold the rental price at a socially compatible level, even though we have already reduced the heating costs for the tenants by 50 %“, promises Josef Gerstl, the director of the housing company. At the same time, the Grammer Solar company has installed a solar energy system on the roof of the housing company of Amberg. Since 2008, the two companies cooperate continuously. Both companies place a very high value on confidence and mutual satisfaction. In 2011, 50 of the overall 200 houses have been provided with solar energy systems, with a remarkable total performance of 700 kWp. During a television interview on OTV, Josef Gerstl, as well as Siegfried Schröpf pointed out that all components of the system which have been used for the housing company, especially the modules, are made in Germany. Therefore, added value is created and jobs in Germany are maintained.
Company profilesHousing company of AmbergSince the establishment, the housing company of Amberg has constructed 1700 housing units. One of the first housing units which have been build in 1905 with a exemplary ground plan, were apartments for clerks. By means of continuous investment, the existing buildings are renovated energetically step by step. Due to this fact, the housing company of Amberg has gained world-wide recognition and has been chosen for the pilot project "e% - energy efficient housebuilding" which is funded by the EU.
